On a hot sunny day in Central Park, I was witness to an amazing feat of nature. A hawk grabbed a squirrel with its sharp talons and decided to perch itself about 15 feet up on a branch to attempt to enjoy his prey, but an angry flock of grackles (similar to blackbirds) attempt to harass the hunter and its spoils with a couple of fly-bys and a whack to the head.
Luckily, my camera recorded the entire affair.
It doesn’t get any better than this, and it beats the price of admission to the zoo!
