So here’s the breakdown: RZA and Wu-Tang Clan have decided to record an album that will be a near two hour long opus of sorts. There will be no copies made. There will only be one copy sold. It will come in its very own special encasement made of nickel and some other fine metals.
Dated from 2007 and shrouded in secrecy, The Wu: Once Upon A Time In Shaolin ($$$ I’m rich bitch) will embark on a mini-tour for display before entering the auction house to be sold to the sole highest bidder. It currently sits in a Moroccan vault. The media format could most likely be vinyl, but it is unclear at the moment. Vinyl would be the medium of choice to evade digitization. I am sure some rich blinged-out Saudi teen will probably end up walking away with it for a few million bucks. Is it an act of artistic integrity that sends a powerful message to the state of the music business or a get rich quick scheme that is designed to bypass the royalties system ??? … INTERESTING…
However, the million dollar question still remains: will we be able to hear it? [or, actually, download a copy?]
Is Wu-Tang clan nothing to fuck with?
