This tough little unit is out to save your life when the shit hits the fan.  It claims to filter out bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, and all other microbiological waterborne pathogens without the aid of any chemicals, but don’t expect it to desalinate the water.  It is effectively called The Lifesaver Water Bottle ($160), and it is pretty expensive, but a pretty complex device.
