This might seem a bit scary and off the beaten path, but a precocious young designer centered in Brooklyn has developed an easily installable stick-on set of actual wooden keys designed for your computer keyboard (Mac) as an alternative to the smooth plastic norm. What he has set out to do is to offer a personalized touchable surface since every laser cut slab is individually unique. Engrain Tactile Keys ($TBA ~$95-$115 projected) is currently in its Kickstarter stage, and I hope to see these pop up sometime soon. Check out the video.
