It looks as though the West Coast has all the goods when it comes to Star Wars memorabilia. You have the shrine, or epicenter, of the Star Wars universe, Skywalker Ranch; Grauman’s Chinese Theater with all the actual footprints of all the characters in cement; ILM (Indutrial Light & Magic, the studio that created all the magic, and now there’s Rancho Obi-Wan: a fantasy showroom compiled together by impeccable collector Steve Sansweet, who has sought through the depths of inner earth to find some pretty unexpected collectible items that include the original Cantina Bar door, spotted in Episode IV, found by a friend of his functioning in a local chicken coop in the country of Tunisia, where the film was originally shot. Believe me, I have seen tons of Star Wars merchandise over the years, but I have never before seen the stuff that lurks along the walls of Rancho Obi-Wan.
Through many more years of sniffing and searching for more unique treasures, he has also modified some amazing one of a kind pieces, ranging from a custom made Millennium Falcon diorama to a simulated walk-in Blockade Runner corridor. If you don’t know what a Blockade Runner is, then I guess you have some catching up to do, but all us die hard fans still know the deal!
Over time, the showroom has transformed into a non-profit museum that offers tours. Check out this short, and I am sure you will warp on over when you’re nearby. I clearly see the makings of a reality show here… do you?
Could it be???
