That padlock kept the rest of the world out of Vivan Maier’s masterful secret!

Meet the Lone Ranger, or rather, the Amelia Earhart of the photography world, Vivian Maier.  What struck most folks that knew her as a simple nanny, gave way to a remarkable passion for photography that she essentially kept hidden from the rest of the world, stashed away in her scantily living quarter nestled in a third floor attic.  This  treasure trove of some of the most amazing black and white photos was found in a box that was purchased at an auction for a mere $380.

This doc, Finding Vivian Maier, defines her legacy, which has plenty of shutter bugs and collectors shakin’ at the knees when viewing the work of one of photography’s most unsung heroes.  The images will stir your consciousness, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!
