TDK has decided to enter the boom box business with 2 new streamlined boom boxes.  They start at list $399 and $499 if you want that bass bottom speaker in the center. Considering that the current wave of Mp3 players has replaced the Walkman and the old-school ghetto blasters, I give the DJ RIO Backdoor Award to TDK for coming onto the scene and revising a cultural classic that looks admirable from a design and craftsmanship standpoint.

By the way, TDK stands for Tokyo Denki-Kagaku, which are the initials for the Japanese corporation, which was shortened from To Ken Da.

Now, we can go back to pissing off all those people that just don’t understand good loud music.
